1. Texts are written in the context of a collective work, i.e. like an anthology, compilation or collection in which a number of contributions, constituting separate and independent works in themselves, are assembled into a collective whole. It is therefore important to understand that creating an account here and participating to Wikipen imply that you give up any individual right to your contribution, which belongs to a collective work as a whole;
2. For the time being, the copyright owner of the collective work Wikipen is Jean-Christophe Chazalette, founder of the site. Before January 2008, an association of Wikipen contributors could replace the current copyright owner.
3. Due to this transfer of copyright, the copyright owner in the collective work have acquired the exclusive right to do and to authorize others to do the following:
- To reproduce the work in copies or phonorecords;
- To prepare derivative works based upon the work;
- To distribute copies or phonorecords of the work to the public by sale or other transfer of ownership, or by rental, lease, or lending;
- To perform the work publicly, in the case of literary, musical, dramatic, and choreographic works, pantomimes, and motion pictures and other audiovisual works;
- To display the copyrighted work publicly, in the case of literary, musical, dramatic, and choreographic works, pantomimes, and pictorial, graphic, or sculptural works, including the individual images of a motion picture or other audiovisual work;
- In the case of sound recordings, to perform the work publicly by means of a digital audio transmission.
4. The copyright owner chose to license the Wikipen collective work under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 2.5 (CC-by-SA 2.5 Full license), which means that:
Anybody is free:
- To copy, distribute, display, and perform the work
- To make derivative works
- To make commercial use of the work
Under the following conditions:
- Attribution. They must attribute the work in the manner specified by the author or licensor.
- Share Alike. If they alter, transform, or build upon this work, they may distribute the resulting work only under a license identical to this one.
5. According to the " French Data Protection Authority (Commission nationale de l'informatique et des libertés), you have a right of access, of modification, correction and suppression of the data which concern you.
